The Siemens SOMATOM Sensation 64 is a high-performance 64-slice head and whole-body computed tomography (CT) scanner designed to obtain high-resolution images across a wide range of applications. Equipped with Siemens' premium technology, the high-powered, compact, easy-to-use, and versatile Sensation 64 is designed to optimize the scanning time, to enhance the overall efficiency and scanning accuracy, and reduce the X-ray dose, all of which can increase the patient's safety and comfort.
The Siemens SOMATOM Sensation 64 is a precision 64-Slice head and whole-body computed tomography (CT) scanner designed to obtain high-resolution images over a wide range of applications. The Sensation 64 is equipped with Siemens' premium technologies, such as the STRATON X-Ray Tube, z-Sharp Technology, CARE Technology, and syngo software to improve the workflow efficiency, patient safety and comfort, and optimize the scanning efficiency. The Sensation 64 is equipped with the STRATON X-Ray tube and the z-Sharp Technology. The combination of these two high-end and innovative technologies allow the SOMATOM scanner to perform lightning fast scanning at the lowest possible dose, and to deliver high-resolution images. The SOMATOM Sensation 64 features Siemens' Combined Applications for Reduced Exposure (CARE) system that includes the CARE Dose 4D and HandCARE. The CARE philosophy is combined with the Ultra Fast Ceramic Detectors to reduce the radiation dose and thereby increase the safety of the patient. The Sensation CT scanner also utilizes Siemens' syngo software that gives the 64 its workflow versatility. These features allow the Sensation 64 to improve the overall clinical workflow and enable the scanner to be used for non-invasive procedures covering several applications, such as cardiac CT angiography.
