Surgical Light Sources

Surgical Light Sources

Surgical light sources provide the needed illumination of surgical sites during minimally invasive surgical procedures. These light sources commonly use either Xenon or LED lighting technology, and are required working components of an endoscopy imaging system to produce images with natural colors. In order to conserve power, prolong lamp life, and reduce heat to prevent accidental burns, surgical light sources enter a standby mode when not in use or when the light cable and the scope are disconnected. Most surgical light sources have lamplife indicators to predict an upcoming replacement, while others have a built-in secondary lamp to use when the main one unexpectedly goes out. Surgical light sources provide necessary light support for endoscopy imaging systems in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
