The Zeiss OPMI Pentero is a premium surgical microscope specifically designed for Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery. Compact and versatile, the 2004 reddot design award-winning microscope combines the improved digital connectivity with the enhanced device maneuverability and the outstanding image scanning and rendering functions to make the OPMI Pentero one of the best surgical microscopes in the market.
The Zeiss OPMI Pentero is a surgical microscope designed to be used in neurosurgery and spine surgery in hospitals and clinics. Developed by Carl Zeiss Meditec, the OPMI Pentero combines the proven Zeiss technology with innovative premium applications that not only improve the user comfort but also enhances the overall capabilities of the reddot 2004 award-winning surgical microscope. The Pentero is designed to have an improved depth of field, light, and working distance. The high-end apochromatic optics, the Varioskop system, the patented two-channel illumination system, and a high-speed autofocus system are combined to deliver clear images with sharp details and natural colors and provide a larger working range. The medical personnel can also use the microscope in a seated or standing position since the suspension system of the device can be placed in any position. The OPMI Pentero is also equipped with the Multivision system, a patented Zeiss system that enables superimposition of color data directly into the eyepieces. It also allows the video data and the touchscreen interface to be shown in the MultiVision display. This feature allows the medical personnel to continuously process various diagnostic, navigation, and system data without needing to take their eyes off the operating field. The surgical microscope can also record and store digital videos and still images through the 3-chip MediLive video camera. The camera is equipped with a Progressive Scan and DV output to deliver flicker-free images at higher resolution. The medical personnel also has a number of options for exporting or importing patient data. The data can be stored or extracted via LAN interface and modem, the DICOM data interface, and a remote service data interface.
