Philips Heartstart XL is a compact, easy-to-use defibrillator that has both manual and automated external defibrillator capabilities. It allows first responders to deliver cardiac care quicker with its intuitive user interface and easy 1-2-3 operations. It has Philips patented Biphasic Smart Technology that has the following features: delivers low-frequency shock suited for each patient need, charges up to 200 Joules in 3 seconds, and has synchronized cardioversion that's proven effective in clinical tests. It has limits and alarms that can be selected, events can be marked, and data can be stored in the device's internal memory (with optional memory card) or shown in Event Summary. On manual mode, the user just selects the energy level, charges the device, then delivers the shock. On AED mode, its voice and text prompts guide users through the defibrillation process. It has optional adult paddles (with paddle to PCI), SPO2 with alarms, 5-lead ECG, and non-invasive pacing.
