The Leica MS3 is a versatile, compact, and mobile surgical microscope used for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeries in an operating room setting. Combined with the Leica Microsystems' premium APO OptiChrome M525 optics, this ergonomically designed operating microscope can also be used for neurosurgery, spine surgery, and otolaryngological surgery.
The Leica MS3 is a high-performance surgical microscope specifically designed to be used for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgery, neurosurgery, spine surgery, and otolaryngological surgery. The MS3 can be easily moved, precisely balanced, and equipped with the Leica OptiChrome M525 optics for improved optical performance. This operating microscope is a good cost-effective addition to the operating rooms of hospitals and clinics. The OptiChrome M525 optics does not only provide better optical performance due to its high light transmission, it only improves patient safety by allowing the medical personnel to use lower degrees of illumination. The MS3 is equipped with a powerful 300-watts xenon arc illumination system with halogen backup. The AutoIris system is also provided to the MS3 to provide better brightness control. This enhanced control sytsem allows surgeons to reliably work at short distances. The surgical microscope can be easily moved by combining the floor stand design with the six electromagnetic brakes. The MS3 can also be folded which allows the microscope to be easily placed around the operating table. It also has a motorized tilt and inclination optics carrier which can be controlled by a joystick arranged on either handle. It allows the surgeons to easily adjust the speed of the movement during surgical procedures. The optics carrier and the 150-degree tilt range of the microscope allow the surgeon to have comfortable position during complex procedures. It is also equipped with the Leica DI C500 which allows the medical personnel to input data from external sources such as MRI, CT, IGS, and endoscopes.
