The Alcon Centurion Vision System is an ophthalmic surgical instrument used in cataract surgery. Combining several premium technologies from Alcon, the Centurion optimizes the cataract surgical procedure to improve patient outcomes, and improve control and efficiency during minimally invasive phacoemulsification procedure. These features make the Centurion specifically well-suited for performing small incision cataract lens extraction and IOL injection surgical procedures.
The Alcon Centurion Vision System is a phacoemulsifier used for cataract surgery performed in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. Designed to improve patient outcomes, control, and efficiency, the Centurion is equipped with Alcon's innovative technologies such as Active Fluidics, Balanced Energy, and Applied Integration that it specifically well-suited for performing small incision cataract lens extraction and IOL injection surgical procedures. The Centurion utilizes the Active Fluidics Technology, an automated system that optimizes anterior chamber stability by giving the practitioner the freedom to proactively set and maintain target intraocular pressure (IOP) within the eye during the cataract removal procedure. The Active Fluidics Technology provides the surgeons with improved IOP control during the procedure. It can also increase the IOP efficiency at lower, more natural settings and eliminate the need to manually adjust fluid pressure. The Balanced Energy Technology is configured to improve the phacoemulsification efficiency using the OZil Intelligent Phaco and the INTREPID Balanced Tip probe. The utilization of the Balanced Energy Tech can increase the efficiency and control, while reducing the energy levels. It can also accommodate surgeon settings for aspiration and vacuum by keeping the fragmented lens material at the shearing plane for emulsification. The Applied Integration enables the system to be seamlessly integrated with multiple cataract surgical technologies, such as the LuxOR Surgical Microscopes with Q-VUE 3-D assistant, and the LenSx Laser to provide a comprehensive cataract surgery suite arranged for improving the clinical workflow.
