The Philips MicroDose SI is a multi-slit type imaging system used in hospitals and clinics for mammography applications. Featuring Philips' advanced technology designed to improve the overall clinical workflow, the Philips MicroDose SI can deliver high-quality images, improve patient comfort and safety, and enhance the clinical confidence of a medical personnel in providing high-quality care.
The Philips MicroDose SI is a multi-slit type imaging system used in hospitals and clinics for mammography applications. Featuring Philips' advanced technology designed to improve the overall clinical workflow, the Philips MicroDose SI can deliver high-quality images that can enhance the clinical confidence of a medical personnel in providing high-quality care. The MicroDose SI takes advantage of Philips' unique Photon Counting Detector and the SmartAEC. The Photon Counting Detector has a high detective quantum efficiency (DQE), a 50 micrometer resolution, and drastically reduced noise which can eliminate scatter radiation and ensures 100-percent pixel output. The SmartAEC is designed to adjust dose in real time and eliminate the need for scouting images. The Philips MicroDose SI is also equipped with a detector system provided with a predetermined number of crystalline silicon strip detectors. The strips are designed and tapering towards the X-ray source. The detector system uses silicon for its outstanding electronic properties and energy resolution. The strip detectors are arranged in edge-on geometry with their long axis parallel to the direction of the X-ray beam to overcome the Silicon's relatively weak attenuation. As such, the absorption size is increased to increase the quantum efficiency for full energy spectrum used in mammography. The mammography system can also be equipped with Philip's Diagnostic Scan. The Diagnostic Scan is configured to use a higher dose on a spot compression area to discern fine details in spot compression images. Due to the higher resolution offered by the Diagnostic Scan, the MicroDose SI can use electronic magnification on the review station to view the fine details at a lower dose than geometric magnification.
