The Verathon Glidescope AVL Video Baton 3-4 is an imaging component of the AVL system for single-use configurations. The video baton is built with the high-resolution camera, LED light source, and anti-fogging mechanism that fights clouding and secretions. It is intended for use on different body proportions starting from 22 pounds (10 kg) to morbidly obese size. The video baton itself is inserted to a disposable Stat, while its other end connects directly to the video monitor for real-time video feed. When the procedure is done, the single-use Stat is considered as biohazard and is removed and disposed of in accordance with local health and safety protocols. The video baton a reusable, non-sterile device protected from contaminants by the single-use Stat so only low-level disinfection is recommended after every use. In instances where it is visibly soiled then high level disinfection is required.
