The SonoSite D2x Ultrasound Probe is a continuous wave Doppler pedof pencil transducer that operates at a frequency of 2 MHz and designed for the SonoSite M-Turbo ultrasound system. Its major application is in cardiac ultrasound to create an image of the heart, and this is also known as echocardiography. It aids in the investigation of chest pain, shortness of breath, hypotension, in evaluating the effects of significant blunt trauma to the chest, and help visualize the heart during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It also is used to examine the size, shape, and motion of the heart - the four chambers, blood vessels entering and leaving the organ, its valves and walls, and the surrounding sac called the pericardium.
