The SonoSite C60E Ultrasound Probe is a 60-millimeter broadband curved array transducer type, intended to be used with the SonoSite MicroMaxx ultrasound system. It has a trapezoidal field of view and operates at 5 to 2 MegaHertz with a scan depth of 22 centimeters. Its clinical application is in obstetric ultrasound (also known as a prenatal ultrasound scan) to screen for and diagnose birth defects or hereditary conditions, and gynecological ultrasound for quick visualization of the female pelvic organs and structures including the uterus, cervix, vagina, fallopian tubes and ovaries. It is also used in abdominal ultrasound, to help diagnose pain or distention and evaluate the gallbladder, liver, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and abdominal aorta.
