The SonoSite HFL38xi Ultrasound Probe is a linear array transducer type that has a scan depth of 6 centimeters while it operates at a frequency of 13 to 6 MegaHertz. It is effectively used in ophthalmic ultrasound as a diagnostic tool that provides instant feedback for the evaluation of various ophthalmic disorders, breast ultrasound to screen for tumors and other breast abnormalities, and lung ultrasound to assess soft tissues, ribs, pleura and lung sliding. It is also used in musculoskeletal ultrasound to produce images of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints throughout the body and effectively help in diagnosing sprains, strains, tears, and other soft tissue conditions. In addition, it is used in vascular ultrasound to evaluate arteries or veins in nearly any part of the body, nerve ultrasound for the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disorders, venous ultrasound to search for blood clots, and arterial ultrasound of the upper or lower extremities to examine the arteries and the blood flow within the arms or legs. The SonoSite HFL38xi Ultrasound Probe is built to work with the SonoSite Edge II, and SonoSite SII ultrasound systems.
