The SonoSite HFL38xp Ultrasound Probe is a linear array transducer type that operates at a frequency of 13 to 6 MegaHertz has a scan depth of 6 centimeters. It is effectively used in breast ultrasound to screen for tumors and other breast abnormalities, and lung ultrasound to assess soft tissues, ribs, pleura and lung sliding. It is also used in nerve ultrasound for the diagnosis of peripheral nerve disorders, venous ultrasound to search for blood clots, and arterial ultrasound of the upper or lower extremities to examine the arteries and the blood flow within the arms or legs. In addition, it is used in musculoskeletal ultrasound to produce images of muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints throughout the body and effectively help in diagnosing sprains, strains, tears, and other soft tissue conditions. The SonoSite HFL38xp Ultrasound Probe is built to work with the SonoSite X-Porte ultrasound system.
