The SonoSite L25 Ultrasound Probe is a 25-millimeter linear transducer that operates at a frequency of 10 to 5 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 6 centimeters. It is used in breast ultrasound as an imaging technique commonly used to screen for lumps, tumors, and other breast abnormalities, or to help guide a biopsy needle so tissues can be collected from the lump and tested. Another of its application is in small parts ultrasound to evaluate many of the superficial organs of the body such as the thyroid gland, the neck and the testes. It is also used in musculoskeletal ultrasound to help diagnose sprains, strains, tears, and other soft tissue conditions throughout the body, while in vascular ultrasound it is used to examine the circulation in the blood vessels and detect blood clots in nearly any part of the body. The SonoSite L25 Ultrasound Probe is also effective as a guide in interventional procedures, and is compatible with the SonoSite 180 PLUS and SonoSite Titan ultrasound systems.
