The Stryker Crossfire 2 Instrument Console acts as the centerpiece of the Crossfire 2 system, and is a power shaver system and electrosurgical generator combined into one. It powers arthroscopic shaver handpieces for the mechanical cutting of the bone and soft tissues, or for the removal of damaged tissue or foreign objects from a wound. The Stryker Crossfire 2 Instrument Console also generates bipolar radio frequency (RF) energy to power surgical probes for electrosurgical cutting and coagulation of tissues. The front panel of the console features ports for the shaver handpiece and RF probe, and a port for an optional foot switch that provides remote foot control for the handheld instruments. Additional controls to adjust the settings of the handpieces are also on the front panel, as well as its LCD screen that provides system feedback. It is also equipped with a USB port at the back panel which enables convenient software installation from authorized service personnel.
The Stryker Crossfire 2 Instrument Console is intended for use in orthopedic and arthroscopic procedures involving the following joints: knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, wrist, and hip. It is well suited for use in a wide range of arthroscopic and orthopedic surgeries, including resection of torn knee cartilage, subacromial decompression, and resection of synovial tissue in other joints.
