CT Scanners
Computed Tomography systems, aka CT scanners, use x-ray technology to take pictures of the insides of a human body in different angles. These images are fed to and processed by a computer to create a cross-sectional image of the bones, blood vessels, organs, and soft tissues, with more detailed information compared to plain x-rays. CT scanners are best used to quickly examine patients who may have internal injuries arising from car accidents or other types of trauma. These also aid to pinpoint location of tumors, infections or blood clots, and guide procedures such as surgery, biopsy, and radiation therapy.
