The Drager Evita 2 Dura Ventilator is a versatile mechanical ventilator specifically designed for long-term use in ICU environment and recovery room. The Evita 2 Dura is a time-cycled, volume-constant ventilation system used for adults and children with a body weight of at least 3 kg. The Drager medical device is equipped with a highly responsive flow trigger and an open breathing system that improves patient safety and comfort.

The Evita 2 Dura is specifically designed to minimize patient risk and improve patient comfort. The Evita Dura is configured to reduce the risk of atelecstasis and improve the ventilation/perfusion ratio by using a spontaneous breathing strategy which can maintain a higher functional residual capacity. The Drager ventilation system helps to get patients off the ventilator safely, quickly, and efficiently by providing mask ventilation which can reduce the reintubation rate or prevent intubation all together. The Evita 2 Dura Ventilator allows the medical personnel to accurately and easily tailor treatment by utilizing a number of features, modes, and modalities. The ventilation modes include Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation (IPPV), Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (SIMV), Mandatory Minute Volume Ventilation (MMV), Spontaneous Breathing (SB), Pressure Controlled Ventilation Plus (PCV+), Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Biphasic Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP), Pressure-supported spontaneous breathing (PSupp), Assisted Spontaneous Breathing (ASB); BIPAP-SIMV, and BIPAP Airway Pressure Ventilation (BIPAP-APRV). It also includes special modes such as Apnoea-ventilation, and an optional Independent Lung Ventilation (ILV). The Evita 2 Dura is provided with a high-resolution, full color display which shows comprehensive data pertaining to the patient. It is also equipped with a rotary knob with simplified settings that enables medical personnel to determine and change, at a glance, the active setting parameters.
