The Olympus GIF-H180 is a high-performance video gastroscope used for gastrointestinal endoscopy applications in hospitals and clinics. It is equipped with superior HDTV-compatible CCD, an innovative Close Focus Optical System, and a Narrow Band Imaging Technology resulting to high quality images and enhanced observation of capillaries and mucosal tissue. Its HDTV-compatible CCD is designed to capture clear, life-like images with precise details and accurate color. The HDTV capability allows for improved visualization of the upper gastrointestinal tract to improve the user's diagnostic performance. It is built with a Close Focus Optical System designed to obtain an enlarged, close-up image by just moving the scope tip near to the site, and to extend the depth of field and eliminate the need for electronic magnification. Its Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) helps in the observation of mucosal morphology in the distal esophagus of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Its NBI and HDTV technologies allow surgeons and medical specialists to target biopsies in patients with Barrett's esophagus.
