SonoSite P21x Ultrasound Probe
The SonoSite P21x Ultrasound Probe is a phased array transducer type that emits soundwaves from 5 to 1 MegaHertz, and with a scan depth of 35 centimeters. It is compatible with the SonoSite M-Turbo ultrasound system, and is intended for abdominal, cardiac, obstetric (OB), and transcranial doppler (TCD) ultrasound applications.
The SonoSite P21x Ultrasound Probe is a phased array transducer that emits soundwaves from 5 to 1 MegaHertz and has a scan depth of 35 centimeters. It is ideally used in transcranial doppler (TCD) ultrasound to evaluate blood flow (blood circulation) in and around the brain, and diagnose conditions such as vasospasm, sickle cell anemia, ischemic stroke, intracranial stenosis or blockage of the blood vessels, cerebral microemboli, and patent foramen ovale. It is also used in cardiac ultrasound to look at the size, shape, and motion of the heart, abdominal ultrasound to help diagnose pain or enlargement and evaluate the kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen and abdominal aorta. Additionally, it is used in obstetric ultrasound (also known as a prenatal ultrasound scan) to screen for and diagnose birth defects or hereditary conditions. The SonoSite P21x is compatible with the Sonosite M-Turbo ultrasound system.
