The Avea is manufactured by Viasys, originally a publicly traded corporation that was purchased by Cardinal Health in 2007. Under Cardinal Health it was manufactured under the Carefusion brand as the Carefusion Avea. In 2016, Viasys was sold again to Vyaire who continues to market the ventilator as the Vyaire Avea to this day.
