The Varian Trilogy is a high-precision linear accelerator designed for image-guided radiation therapy and radiosurgery. Powerful, reliable, and versatile, the Trilogy can be used to provide Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Fractionated Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (FSRT).
The Varian Trilogy is a powerful, reliable, and versatile state-of-the-art linear accelerator designed for image-guided radiation therapy and radiosurgery. Equipped with Varian's premium technology, the Trilogy can optimize the radiation delivery without unnecessarily harming the other organs near the target area. It can also be used for Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Fractionated Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (FSRT). The Trilogy is equipped with the RapidArc technology that is designed to deliver radiation therapy. The RapidArc utilizes focused, sculpted beams of radiation to the tumor area while protecting the nearby healthy tissues and organ. The IMRT is configured for modulating and contouring the radiation beam to predetermined levels of intensity and shape based on the needs of the procedure. The IGRT is adapted for gating the radiation to a moving target which allows for improved accuracy with respect treating moving tumors. The accelarator is also provided with the On-Board Imager (OBI) that can perform rapid imaging. The rapid imaging is combined with the powerful generator and the higher dose rate to reduce the treatment time, which, in turn, improves the safety factor for both the patient and the clinician. The Trilogy also integrates Varian's ARIA oncology information system and the Eclipse treatment planning system. The combination of the Eclipse and the ARIA systems ensure that the correct dose is delivered to the right body part. It can also reduce the errors due to the acquisition of huge amounts of data during treatment.
